Overview
From December through April, the Calypso Whale Watch Cruise departs from Maʻalaea Harbor for a two-hour immersive experience. Hop aboard a triple-deck (three decks) catamaran with spacious cabins, outdoor decks, and abundant seating. The naturalist, captain, and crew will guide you, explaining humpback whale behaviors (breaching, tail slapping, spy-hopping, etc.), and you might hear whale songs via an underwater hydrophone. Drinks and snacks are available, and unlimited soda, juice, and water are included.
Guests should arrive 30 minutes before departure. The vessel offers excellent viewing from all decks, sheltered areas in case of sun or wind, and a comfortable, stable ride. Accessories for purchase include things like T-shirts or motion-sickness remedies. Alcohol is available for purchase (21+ with ID). Whale sightings are guaranteed; if whales are not seen, there is a free re-watch offer.
