Overview

The Volcano Adventure Tour from Hilo offers a full-day deep dive into the raw geological forces shaping Hawaiʻi Island. You’ll traverse the terrain of Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, witnessing features such as the Halemaʻumaʻu Crater (which has expanded since 2018), active steam vents formed by groundwater interacting with hot volcanic rock, and pit craters like Kīlauea Iki. You’ll also explore Nahuku Lava Tube (a subterranean conduit of past eruptions), travel past Rainbow Falls and Akaka Falls in lush rainforest, and pass through Hilo town, including Banyan Drive and Liliʻuokalani Gardens. Round-trip transportation is provided (from Hilo area hotels), along with park admissions and a to-go lunch.
