Join one of Ocean Sports’ whale watching cruises aboard a stable, spacious catamaran departing from the Kohala or Kona coast. Because their departure points lie within the National Marine Humpback Whale Sanctuary, you don’t have to travel far before entering prime whale habitat. Trained marine naturalists will accompany you, interpreting whale behaviors and answering questions. When conditions allow, a hydrophone is deployed so you can listen to the humpback whales’ songs underwater. This combination of sightseeing, education, and acoustic immersion provides a powerful way to connect to the natural rhythms of Hawaii’s marine giants.
